React Developer

About the Role

We are seeking a React Developer with solid experience in Drupal-based ecosystems to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will focus primarily on modern front-end development using React, TypeScript, and Storybook, while also supporting the integration and data flow between React applications and Drupal environments. You’ll collaborate closely with UX designers, back-end engineers, and DevOps to build high-performance, scalable, and accessible digital experiences.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain React-based interfaces integrated with Drupal APIs (REST/JSON:API/GraphQL).

Modernize existing Drupal front-end components into reusable React functional components using hooks and TypeScript.

Collaborate with the UX team to evolve a Storybook-driven design system, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and performance.

Optimize front-end performance and SEO by implementing AJAX loading, dynamic data fetching, and smart caching strategies.

Support Drupal migrations (v10–v11) by aligning new React front-end structures with updated module and theme systems.

Work with Solr Search API integrations, enhancing user search experience through filtering, prioritization, and autocompletion.

Partner with back-end developers to ensure secure, efficient communication between Drupal and React layers (OAuth2, JWT).

Requirements

3+ years of experience in front-end development with React, JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern frameworks.

Strong understanding of headless CMS architectures, preferably with Drupal 8–11.

Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, SCSS, and Twig templates.

Familiarity with Drupal theming and module development is a plus.

Experience using Storybook, Jest, and design system alignment workflows.

Understanding of API integration, including REST, GraphQL, and OAuth2/JWT.

Experience with Docker/DDEV/Lando for local development environments.

Intermediate or higher English proficiency (B2+).

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of PHP 8.x, Composer, and Acquia/Pantheon hosting.

Experience with Laravel or Node.js integrations.

Background in UX-engineering collaboration or component-driven development.
